There was a time—no tan lejos—when we said yes to everything.

Yes to unpaid guest spots (aka: “opportunities” that drained us). 🤯 Yes to emotional labor nobody acknowledged—listening to complaints, holding everyone’s feelings but our own. 🩸 Yes to showing up early, staying late, and still getting overlooked... because sometimes the fridge was empty, and free food meant survival. 🥣

We thought:

“If I’m good enough, they’ll value me.” ☎️

But spoiler alert: they didn’t. They won’t. And maybe they can’t. That’s not our fault, but it is our wake-up call. 🧠

🧃 Our Old Selves Worked on Empty

We were magic on a budget. 🪄 The go-to. The reliable one. The bring-the-playlist-and-the-prayer one. We said “sí” before even checking our calendars—or our bodies. 🥣

Why? Because we were taught being useful = being lovable.

From our families, la iglesia, school, volunteering... even the workplace. We believed if we shined bright enough, someone would finally mirror it back.

But here's the real glow-up: ✨

That light lives within. 🥣 We’re not waiting for someone else to reflect it. We shine anyway. Softly. Boldly. On our own terms. ☎️

🧠 The Awakening Wasn’t Loud—It Was Lonely

Not one big slam-the-door moment. More like a slow walk away from pretending. A quiet decision to pause, breathe, and start asking:

“Am I choosing this? Or proving something?” 🤯
“Am I aligned—or just afraid?”

That’s when the shift began. Not overnight, but inside. 🌙

We don’t trauma dump just because someone asks “how are you?” We’ve earned our peace. It’s sacred land. 🧘🏽‍♀️

🌙 Spiritually…

We don’t light candles for broken systems. We bless ourselves. We sage our own worth. 🕯️🥣

And when someone doesn’t honor it?

We leave without bitterness—pero no sin boundaries. 🇵🇷
